Schedule IV (Late Start)

Attention Students:  Today is the deadline to sign up for the PSAT.

The student section theme for the Northview vs. Anthony Wayne football game has CHANGED! It is now an ORANGE OUT!  T-shirts for the “Orange Out”  will be on sale at lunches for $10.  Proceeds will go to the Chad Tough Foundation that is raising money to fight childhood cancer, specifically for DIPG, which is what Colt Delverne, brother of kicker Drew Delverne, passed away from last November.

This week, Northview will be participating in the Pass-it-on Challenge sponsored by 13abc. This year we are competing against the Anthony Wayne Generals. Drop off gently used items at the GoodwillNow trailer located in our parking lot off of Monroe St. between 11:00am-6:00pm Mon-Thur this week.  The school with the most donations will receive a $500 scholarship.

Interact Member: If you are interested in helping at I Love Olander Day this Sunday, there is a sign up sheet on Google Classroom. Please do so by the end of the day Thursday. There are many jobs and shifts to choose from.

Respect club is the place for you to share, talk, and feel respected. Respect club’s first meeting is on Thursday, Sept. 19 at the think tank after school. Come decide our topics for this year. Volunteer opportunities will be available!

Congratulations to our four National Merit Semi-Finalists: Shrey Gupta, Daniel Klein, Avinash Singh and Anya Wojtkowiak. After taking the PSAT last October, the National Merit Scholarship Corporation identified Semi-Finalists across the country based on the student’s test scores. Please take a moment to congratulate these hard working seniors!

I want to take a moment to recognize as well as remind all of you of the significance of this date in our country’s history.  Eighteen years ago today our country suffered an unexpected and shocking attack.  In the days following the aftermath of that event our country pulled together to support first responders, family members, neighbors and community members.  The importance of supporting one another and relying on the strength of friends and family members should never be lost on us, especially in such a wonderful place as Northview High School. I urge all of you to keep that in mind as you move through your everyday schedule today.  We are stronger together.

Senior, Ian Weil, is the Northview High School Musician of the Week. Ian has been an outstanding member of the Northview Music Department; band, orchestra, & choir.  As this year’s student officer and Band President, Ian has been a great resource to the directors and leadership for our students in the band.  Ian has been a member of the Northview Marching Band, Concert Band, Symphonic Band, Wind Ensemble, Pep Bands, Jazz Bands, Symphony Orchestra, Pit Orchestra, A Cappella Choir, Harmony Roadshow, Academy Orchestra, North Covers and has participated in numerous regional honors ensembles and OMEA honors and festival events.  Ian is also involved in the Theatre Department.  Ian is the son of Marty and Melanie Weil.
