Students: An ACT Test Prep Course is being offered at Northview beginning tomorrow.  Please stop in the main office to pick up a registration form. The cost is $30.  If you have any questions or concerns, please ask Mrs. Rhine or the main office.

Not all heroes wear capes; donate to the blood drive on November 22nd! You must be sixteen or older. Sign up during all lunch periods.

Sylvania families need you!! Interact is hosting a holiday food drive in conjunction with Sylvania Area Family Services.   Please bring in your non-perishable food items to your 3rd period classes.  The class with the most donations will earn donuts!  The drive will run until Nov. 22nd.  Northview supports Sylvania Families!

Congratulations to the NV QuizCats for their solid victory, 400-85, over their crosstown rivals, the SV Cougars on Monday. The Wildcats were led by juniors Ben Gravelle, Matt Sigler and Eric Thomas, with plenty of support from sophomore Grant Weilegman and freshman phenom Alex Kang. The Northview Quiz Bowl JVs also posted a solid win over the Cougars. Way to go QuizCats!

Congratulations to Cecile Schreidah, Ananya Kodali, Blake Schiffel, Marissa Gonzalez and Leah McKarus, who won in the Presentation Category at the Student Watershed Watch Summit on Friday at the Toledo Zoo, they were recognized for their additional component of connection their water quality to the local community. Additional congratulations go out to, Madison Williamson, Megan House,McKinnis Lehman,Jenna Wilkinson, Anya Wojtkowiak and Alana Sulewski, who received the Best Overall Display with their Water Quality Data Poster and 3D model of the Ottawa River Watershed.

Attention all Staff and Students: Max Boyle, a Toledo resident and 2014 Central Catholic High School graduate, is competing on NBC’s The Voice!  He will perform in the live round during the show on Monday, November 11, and he needs our votes to move on in the competition. We are asking that all the Toledo area high schools come together to support Max by casting your votes for him.  The show airs from 8:00 to 10:00 p.m. on Monday, November 11, and the voting window is open from 10:00 p.m. Monday to 7:00 a.m. Tuesday.  You can download The Voice app for free and use it to vote, or vote on NBC.com.

TODAY is the LAST day to sign up for this Friday’s Principal Advisory Committee.  We will be discussing student led project ideas to improve Northview.  Make sure when you sign up you document your project topic.  You will receive an email from Mr. Pugh confirming your topic as well as directions to prepare for Friday’s meeting.  Make sure you check your email.

The Northview Musician of the Week is senior Peyton Siegel, daughter of Josh and Meghan Siegel. Peyton sings soprano in the Northview A Cappella Choir, Harmony Road Show, and Northview Chorus.  Peyton has been an active member of the Northview Theatre Department.  Her previous roles include Meg March in Little Women, Sophie Sheridan in Mamma Mia, Miss Wiley/Mrs. Fryer in Radium Girls, Lindsay in Godspell, and Maggie Holmes in Working.    Apart from her musical activities, Peyton is the Choir Historian, Drama Club Historian, and Glamour Gals Treasurer.

The powder puff game is TONIGHT at the stadium! The tailgate is at 6:30, game at 7, and bonfire at 8:15!

Over the weekend Northview’s Speech and Debate team took home the first place overall win at the Maumee invitational! Winning their events and taking first place finishes were Senior Cecile Schreidah in Original Oratory, Senior Jack Mcgranahan in Student Debate, Seniors Allison Li and Dante Le in Duo Interpretation, Junior Maiya Black in Lincoln Douglas Debate, and Freshmen Grant Wieligman in U.S. Extemporaneous Speaking. In total 27 Wildcats made it to the podium on Saturday! Great Job Speech and Debate!!!!

This Week is National French Week! To celebrate, we’ll be providing a fun French fact everyday this week. Did you know that The Louvre in Paris is the most visited museum in the world? If you looked at everything for 30 seconds, you’d be there for 3 months!

Come and Dance at International Dance Club in the Orchestra Room. The first meeting is today from 2:35 to 3:30. Don’t  know how to dance, no worries! Everybody is welcomed. There will be snacks, as well.

Are you a Freshmen looking to get involved in class government? Want to represent your class and help raise money? Fill out an application and make a video campaign by the end of the day. Elections will be held during Homeroom on Friday November 8th. Please see Mrs. Liske with any questions.

The Yearbook needs photos of you carving your pumpkins or with your decorated/carved pumpkin!  Send them to shuey@sylvaniaschools.org

Seniors, if you still need to have a senior portrait taken, Kurt Nielsen is having a Portrait Walk In tomorrow from 10am to 5pm, only $32 for a portrait. Remember, senior portraits are due November 8 for the yearbook!
