This week, we are celebrating National School Counseling Week. In honor of this week, we will have a daily Northview School Counselor Spotlight, and we will highlight fun facts about each School Counselor.
Today’s School Counselor Spotlight is Mrs. Crystal Burnworth:
Mrs. Burnworth attended the University of Toledo and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in English and a Master’s degree in Special Education. She also attended BGSU and graduated with a Master’s degree in School Counseling.
Her favorite food is seafood
Mrs. Burnworth’s favorite color is green
Her favorite book is Harry Potter
Mrs. Burnworth’s favorite sport is volleyball
And her favorite bands are Muse and Heart

Stormy weather returns tomorrow. Looking for things to do? The Class of 2022 is hosting a Spirit Night at Sky Zone Wednesday night from 4-8. It is only $15 for 120 minutes of jumping fun. All jumpers need to complete a waiver, so sign up online. See your school email for the details
Northview! Come out for stucos annual Tie Dye Tuesday next Tuesday, February 12th to dye a shirt to wear at the game that Friday! This event will be held in the cafeteria at 2:30 and is open to both students and faculty. Bring $5 at the door for a white t-shirt or bring your own shirt and join in free! See you there!
Northview’s winter dance Turnabout is this Saturday! You don’t want to miss it! It is from 8-11pm in the main gym. Bids are on sale this week $15 per person.

This week is spirit week: The theme for tomorrow is Finding Nemo. It will be a beachout! Be sure to dress up and don’t forget to buy your bids during all lunch periods
Project Unify: We will be competing in our first ever project unify basketball tournament this weekend in Dundee, Michigan. This is an exciting opportunity to meet and play with other schools who have unified teams but we need enough players to participate. Attention Speech and Debate: Anyone hoping to compete at the National Qualifier event in 2 weeks must attend an informational meeting tomorrow in Room F7 immediately after school.

Attention all students: Are you interested in giving back to your community? Come to an informational meeting on Thursday, February 7th at 2:30 pm in B2 to learn about a volunteer opportunity with Food For Thought (a non-profit organization located in Downtown Toledo). Lost and Found: Lost and Found has many lost items that need to be found by YOU! The lost items include prescription glasses, gym clothes, shoe bags, swimming trunks, pencil bags/boxes, clothes, coat, and other odds and ends. Items not claimed will be donated to Goodwill in two weeks. Lost and Found is located in the Student Services/Mrs. Bohland’s Office area.
Attention All Students: The Northview Choral Department is looking for quality singers to add to the A Cappella Choir, Symphonic Choir, and Women’s Chorus for the 2019-20 school year. Membership will include performance opportunities here at Northview, a chance to compete at the district and state level, and participation in our Spring tours to New York City. Auditions are January 28th-February 7th. Harmony Roadshow auditions will take place the evening of February 6th. Any student interested and not currently enrolled in choir should talk to a current member or Mr. Davis for more information.

Sign up for Northview’s ACT Prep Class . The class is FREE and you will receive a copy of The REAL ACT prep book. The only catch is you have to have perfect attendance, otherwise $35 will be charged to your student account. There are a limited number of spots available, so get your order form and sign up now with Mrs. Ragland in the Main Office. The classes are first come first serve, with priority given to Seniors and Juniors.

Musician of the Week: The Northview musician of the week is senior violinist Hannah Dorris. Hannah plays violin in the Chamber Orchestra and viola in the Concert Orchestra. She has represented Northview at OMEA Regional and District Orchestra, is a member of the University of Toledo Symphony Orchestra, and has been a member of the Toledo Symphony Youth Orchestra and the Greater Toledo Youth Orchestra. Hannah has been a member of the Pit Orchestra, is a member of North Covers, and performs regularly at Solo and Ensemble. In addition to her musical activities, Hannah is a member of Science Olympiad and National Honor Society. After graduation, Hannah will attend college to study Biochemistry. A private student of Penny Kruse, Hannah is the daughter of Kristy and Brian Dorris
