Bubble Soccer: has been postponed until Friday, May 18th.  It will be included in the STUCO Block Party which is from 3-6pm. If you have already registered and would like a refund, please see Mrs. Blue.

 

Do you have nothing to do May 18th? Come join Student Council for a free block party with bounce houses, a boxing ring, snow cones, ice cream, and more!

 

Homeroom Leaders:  Please check your school email for the lesson plan for tomorrow’s homeroom.

 

Seniors Please check the list outside of the Main Office for those receiving the Presidential Award and the Academic Honors Diploma.  If you believe you should be on the list and are not you may check with your counselor

 

After Prom Prizes Needed: The Northview After Prom Prize Committee still needs donations for the 2018 NV After Prom to be held May 5th. The After Prom is fully funded by Northview Senior Parents, their fundraising efforts and direct donations from area businesses and Northview families. We need your help to make this event a success! You don’t have to be a parent of a senior to help

 

Hi parents!  We are still in need of volunteers for After-Prom! This is an event our seniors look forward to all year.  Parents have been planning, fundraising and meeting every month to make this a great evening for our kids!  If these spots don’t get filled, we will have to cancel the rentals, close things early, etc. With over 300 students attending after-prom we should be able to fill these spots!  The kids will surely appreciate you!!

A great big thank you goes out to everyone who has already volunteered at the Senior events with your time, talent, and your donations!  It’s been a great year!

Need plans next Friday Night?  Come out to Quarry Ridge, May 4th from 8-9PM and participate in the Mini-Masters minigolf tournament.  The event is being put on by the Sophomore Leadership Academy and all the proceeds will go to Toledo Food for Thought to benefit those in poverty.  Registration is $10 per person and includes food and drinks.  Pick up forms in the office and register your team by the end of this week.  Forms can be turned in to the office along with your payment

Are you interested in being a Class officer? Election information can be found in your school email. Be sure to read it over and meet the deadlines in order to run.
Student Council Sign ups are also in your school email. So if you want to spend a couple days at camp Storer with your friends and help plan the fun stuff around Northview – sign up today!

OR, since that isn’t happening around here why not attend the Northview Student Art Show and ensure that your soul is filled with inspiration.  Come out and see our amazing and enlightening body of student work from May 4th – May 9th in the Northview PAC, lobby, and stage.  The show will highlight our graduating senior artists.

 

 

NV Class of 2018 Parents!    Final Plea…Please email a baby photo and a senior portrait photo of your graduate to Sue Corron at scorron7@gmail.com for the senior slide show by April 27th.  Please include the first, middle and last name of your student.  If you have any questions, please contact Sue Corron by phone or text at 419-345-5140

 

Lost and Found We have several lost treasures that need to be found by YOU!  The lost treasures are prescription glasses, shoes, tennis shoes, gym clothes, shoe bags with swim items, clothes, coats, and other odds and ends.

Lost and Found is located in the Student Services/Mr. Monheim’s Office area.

 

Parking Information- 2018/19 School Year: Sophomores and Juniors with a license, that are interested in a parking pass for next school year, can pick up a parking registration form from Mr. Monheim.  He will have these available in his office and during lunch periods.  Once the registration is filled out and signed, students can return the completed form with a valid driver’s license and $30 cash or check made out to Northview High School.  Students will also be able to purchase parking passes at the Welcome Wildcat days in early August.

 

Book Club is April 30th:  This semester we are reading The Book Thief.  Our meeting will be held during each of the lunch periods.   All students are invited to join

 

This is a reminder for all students in the building:  Using your cell phone to record pictures or videos of the preschool children, including through SnapChat, is STRICTLY PROHIBITED due to preschool regulations and privacy policies.  If you have questions, please see the preschool director, Mr. Eickholt, in E-24.

Hey, Northview!  Looking for something to do tonight? Come to the annual Northview Orchestra Pops Concert at 7:00 in the PAC!

Both of our Orchestras will be playing, along with North Covers. We will feature senior violinist Adam Murphy and student conductor Miranda Futrell. You can hear music from Moana, Jurassic Park, and Star Wars.

But the highlight of the Concert will be when 14 of our faculty members, who used to play in Band or Orchestra when they were in high school, join us for our final piece! Come hear your favorite teacher play tonight! We hope to see you there!

Congratulations!- We would like to congratulate and wish Dane Hullibarger the best of luck this weekend, as he is playing in the State of Ohio-North/South Football game in Massilon, OH.

This all-star game is this Saturday at 4PM.  It is for all the top High School Senior players in the state.

Lost and Found We have several lost treasures that need to be found by YOU!  The lost treasures are prescription glasses, shoes, tennis shoes, gym clothes, shoe bags with swim items, clothes, coats, and other odds and ends.

Lost and Found is located in the Student Services/Mr. Monheim’s Office area.

Parking Information- 2018/19 School Year: Sophomores and Juniors with a license, that are interested in a parking pass for next school year, can pick up a parking registration form from Mr. Monheim.  He will have these available in his office and during lunch periods.  Once the registration is filled out and signed, students can return the completed form with a valid driver’s license and $30 cash or check made out to Northview High School.  Students will also be able to purchase parking passes at the Welcome Wildcat days in early August.Attention students! Need to relax a little before our last round of state testing next week? Join the BPA students for our Chipotle fundraiser on Monday, April 23 from 4-8p. Senior, Grant Lyons, is the Northview High School Musician of the Week. Grant has been a member of the Northview Band Program all four years of high school. Grant has demonstrated strong musicianship, leadership, and a joy for music in many ways throughout his career here at Northview. This year, Grant is the section leader and principal horn of the Wind Ensemble. Grant has participated in numerous regional honors bands and OMEA festivals & events during his time at Northview. Grant has been a member of the Northview Marching Band, Concert Band, Symphonic Band, Wind Ensemble, Jazz Bands, and Pep Bands. Grant is also involved in Northview Rocketry, is a Science Olympiad Co-Captain, and pole vaults for track and field. Grant is the son of Chris and Claudine Lyons.

Bubble soccer is back- That’s right wildcats- Thursday April 26th at Cats Stadium from 6-8:30 pm.  Teams will be made up of 5 people.  Sign up begins today during all lunch periods through Thursday April 26th.  The cost is $15 per person and includes a shirt, pizza, chips and a pop or water.

Scholarships: Two local scholarship applications with minimal requirements are available in the Guidance Office:  Sylvania Pyramid Lodge #287 and Whiteford Elementary School Parent Organization Scholarship.  The application deadline for both is today.  Please Mrs. Kuebler for more information

Book Club is April 30th:  This semester we are reading The Book Thief.  Our meeting will be held during each of the lunch periods.   All students are invited to join

This is a reminder for all students in the building:  Using your cell phone to record pictures or videos of the preschool children, including through SnapChat, is STRICTLY PROHIBITED due to preschool regulations and privacy policies.  If you have questions, please see the preschool director, Mr. Eickholt, in E-24.

Attention The Masters Swim Club is offering Adult Learn-to-Swim (ALTS) clinics which are swim lessons for adult (18+) and non-swimmers on Saturdays, starting April 21st thru May 12th. Certified instructors will work with one or two adults for four weeks 40-minutes per session. Instructors will work with individuals who are fearful of the water. Participants will start lessons in the shallow end of the pool and proceed at their own pace. The cost is $20 which covers all 4 sessions plus goggles and a swim cap.  For times and Sign-up go to www.SwimSylvaniaMasters.com.

Hi parents!  We are still in need of volunteers for After-Prom! This is an event our seniors look forward to all year.  Parents have been planning, fundraising and meeting every month to make this a great evening for our kids!  If these spots don’t get filled, we will have to cancel the rentals, close things early, etc. With over 300 students attending after-prom we should be able to fill these spots!  The kids will surely appreciate you!!

Congratulations to our senior NHS members for earning their honor cords last night and to our newest junior members who were inducted last night, welcome to National Honor Society!!

QuizCats: Your 2017-2018 Northview QuizCats wrapped up their successful season Saturday by winning the WNWO Academic Challenge competition, defeating a surprisingly strong Riverdale team. Paced by team captain Patrick Andres, the team coasted to a 310 to 220 victory with plenty of support by the twin towers of Lucas and Zach Burton and freshman phenom George Hajjar. Air dates for the Northview victory shows will be Sundays in July at 11:00 a.m. Congratulations on a great season QuizCats!
