Listen up Northview, regarding Exams this week!

  1. Students will be allowed to come to school late if they do NOT have an exam scheduled. (You do NOT need a note for late arrival)
  2. Students, who do not have an exam scheduled the last period, will be allowed to leave school early with a note from parent giving permission for an early departure.
  3. If students have a free exam period between two scheduled exams, they will NOT be allowed to leave and should report to Cafeteria Commons.
  4. Bus changes and consolidations will be posted on the Main doors and windows in the front lobby!

 

Students: It is time to start checking your summer assignments. Go to the NV Website and click on the “For Students” tab. In the drop down, you will see a Summer Assignments page. Once you are there, click the refresh button. The latest updates have been done during May of 2017, and it should say so at the top of the page. The counseling office can verify your courses for next year if you are unsure.  Please DO NOT wait until August to visit this page.

 

Looking for a Job? Check the opportunities board across from A2?  There are several new opportunities for summer employment to check out.

Want help studying for exams? Come Join your fellow classmates TODAY after school from 2:30-3:30 to get ready to rock those exams! Room Locations will be posted! Make arrangements to stay after school to prepare for those exams!! There will be exam study groups for American History, Geometry, Biology, Algebra I, Algebra II, English 9, American Lit, Physical Science & Pre-Calc.

 

Any lifeguard who needs to re-certify Ms. Huey will be offering a re-certification class May 24 and 25 from 1-5pm. See Ms. Huey for more information and to sign up.

We are looking to add a 3rd team to our robotics competition program!  We have 2 teams already consisting of Northview and Southview students and we are hoping to launch a 3rd.  We are looking for various skills on the team, e.g. people who would love to create a YouTube channel and broadcast the team’s work throughout the season. Come to Guidance for a Team application. Applications are due May 31st

Senior, Libbey Jaeblon, is the Musician of the Week. Libbey has been an outstanding member of the Northview Choir and Band programs all four years of high school.  Libbey has demonstrated leadership in a multitude of ways throughout her career here at Northview.  As a leading role in numerous Northview musical productions, she has shined in her roles as Marian in Music Man, as well as Fantine in Les Miserables.  As a member of both the top choir and band, she has demonstrated strong musicianship and leadership qualities in her work with others in the ensemble.  Libbey has been a member of; A Cap Choir, Harmony Road Show, Symphonic Band, Symphony Winds, Wind Ensemble, Theatre, and has performed in various honors festivals and groups throughout her time at Northview, including Solo and Ensemble and District Honors Choir. Libbey is also involved in music outside of school, as she sings and dresses as Disney princesses for festivals and events through Midwest Princess Parties, and regularly plays guitar.  Libbey is the daughter of Chad Simon and Amy Engel.

Noah has been a member of the Northview Band Program all four years of high school.  Noah has been involved in just about every musical venue throughout his career here at Northview.  This year, Noah was a section leader, Loading Crew Head, and principal tuba of the Wind Ensemble.  He will be a featured soloist on the spring concert.  Noah has been involved in Theatre, Acap Choir, Harmony Road Show, Symphony Winds, North Covers, Jazz Band, Jazz Cats, Jazz Combo, Marching band, Pep band, and all of the Northview concert bands.  He has also been a member for Bridges Youth Music Ministry for seven years outside of school.  Throughout his career, Noah has also been a member of numerous honor bands and festivals throughout the region; including traveling abroad with the Ambassadors program and being a member of this year’s OMEA All-State Band.  Next year Noah will be attending The Ohio State University to major in Music Education.  Noah is the son of John and Kelly Jockett.

The Northview Musician of the Week is senior string bass player Mark Vasquez. Mark is a member of our Chamber Orchestra. He is known for his beautiful tone quality, fine technique, and outstanding orchestra spirit. Here at Northview Mark is also active in Football and Track and Field After graduation, Mark plans to attend the University of Toledo to major in computer science. Mark is the son of Dina and Frank Vasquez.
