2nd Period Commons Students: On Wednesday, February 27th 2nd period Commons will be held in the PAC to accommodate ACT pre-registration.  Make sure you report to PAC, 2nd period ONLY, on Wed the 27th.

Attention all Students: Senior Class will be hosting a Book Drive for an organization called ‘Books for Buddies’ the week of February 25th – March 1st. Please bring in your gently used or new books and drop them off to the collection box in front of the main office all next week

ATTENTION JUNIORS:  Buckeye Boys/Girls State applications are here! Interested in how the government works? Want to immerse yourself in a summer civil leadership opportunity?  Applications for buckeye boys/girls state can be picked up in the guidance office. Applications will be read and interviews set with representatives from the American Legion Post. This is a fun, unique opportunity – stop down to guidance today to pick up an application today!

Our next Respect club meeting is  tomorrow after school, in the think tank. Come discuss any current issues and help brainstorm ideas for a possible video. Also, don’t forget to purchase your t-shirts. The sale ends on Thursday! If you would like to purchase a Respect club t-shirt, please speak to Mrs. Rauscher or Mrs. Stefango. See you on Thursday!

The Hockey District Semi-finals are Saturday February 23rd at 6:00 at Tam-o-Shanter. Tickets are $7 and can be purchased in the main office.

The only thing you need to bring is yourself and a love of all things art. Sign up ahead of time on the sheet at the corner of D and E hall. See Mrs. Seal-Roth if you have any questions.

Juniors –This year you will take the ACT as part of your Ohio State Testing. We will have a pre-administration session on Wednesday, Feb. 27th during 3rd and 4th periods in the cafeteria. This process will take more than an hour, so it is important for you to be on time. Be sure to bring a #2 pencil. No mechanical pencils please!

Next Tuesday February 26th, foil your dinner plans and come dine at the Chipotle on Central to support the sophomore class! Come out from 4pm-8pm to hang out with friends and eat some great food!

The musician of the week is senior violinist Alexis VanKlingeren. Alexis plays violin in the Chamber Orchestra. She has represented Northview at OMEA Regional and District Orchestra, and has been a member of the Toledo Symphony Youth Orchestra and the Greater Toledo Youth Orchestra.  Alexis has been a member of the Pit Orchestra, and performs regularly at Solo and Ensemble. In addition to her musical activities, Alexis is a member of National Honor Society. After graduation, Alexis plans to study Music Education at an undecided college. A private student of Estelle Dobbins, Alexis is the daughter of Lisa VanKlingeren.

Yoga Club is having a Valentine’s Day Special today after school in the PAC lobby. Spread the love of yoga and bring a friend (or two) to our session and you both will receive a special treat.  We will also be having sound therapy during our savasana.Hope to see you there!

Congratulations to swimmers Leah Smith and Maya Crooks for breaking the school record in the 100 Meter Breaststroke this past weekend at the District Swimming Championships.  That record stood since 1998.  Leah came in 7th place and Maya finished 9th in the race.

What a Saturday for Senior Kevin Gaynor at the District Swimming Championships.  He qualified for the OHSAA State Swimming Championships in the 50 Meter Freestyle and the 100 Meter Backstroke.  He finished 3rd in the 50 Meter Freestyle and 2nd in the 100 Meter Backstroke.  He also broke the school records in both of those races.  Best of luck at the State Preliminaries this Friday, February 22nd at Canton McKinley High School.

Northview Speech and Debate would like to congratulate Cecile Schreidah on taking first place this past weekend at the National Qualifier, in Original Oratory. Cecile will be representing Northview this summer at the National Championships in Dallas, Texas. She is Northview’s first ever Finalist in Original Oratory! So please congratulate her if see her in the halls!!!

Quiz Bowl: At the NV QuizCats Senior Game yesterday, seniors Lucas and Zack Burton and team captain Patrick Andres were honored for their ongoing success at their final home match.! They then proceeded to defeat their guest Pettisville 455 to 135! Great job QuizCats! Bring on TSA and St. Francis!

Congratulations to the Northview Dance Team for an amazing performance at the regional competition this weekend! They will be moving on to compete at the State Championship in Columbus on March 2nd.

Congratulations to the Northview Competition Cheer Team for qualifying to the OASSA State Championship Competition yesterday.  The Competition will take place at St. John’s Arena on the campus of the Ohio State University on Sunday, March 10th.

Congratulations also to the following swimmers and divers that qualified to the District Meet. Kassidy Gall, Hailey Joyce, Gabby Schinharl, Zoe Briggs, Sammi Briggs, Maya Crooks, Sophia Holt, Sammie Young Olivia Zeisler, Eli Humeniuk, George Peuhl, Adrian Almedia, Gavin Burke, Charlie Delmonico, Kevin Gaynor, Brandon Harshman, Collin Kill and Conrad Weisner.  The Divers will compete on Tuesday, February 12th at the BGSU Recreation Center and the Swimmers will compete on Saturday, February 16th also at the BGSU recreation.

Seniors: Check your email for important graduation information. Review the spreadsheet sent to you by Ms. Davis to verify your name as it will appear on your diploma in June. See Ms. Davis in Room B2 prior to next WEDNESDAY, Feb. 13 with any errors or concerns.

With Valentine’s Day right around the corner, Harmony Roadshow will once again be selling Singing Valentine’s Day Grams for $5 during all lunch periods.  On Valentine’s day, surprise that special someone, favorite teacher, or just someone you want to embarrass with their own special performance.  There are a limited number of performances so get yours today!

Northview! Come out for stucos annual Tie Dye tomorrow to dye a shirt to wear at the game that Friday! This event will be held in the cafeteria at 2:30 and is open to both students and faculty. Bring $5 at the door for a white t-shirt or bring your own shirt and join in free! See you there!
